Go Green With Your Beauty Routine

You really don't need to fork up the cash to have great skin. Truth be told, many of the ingredients you already have in your kitchen cabinet do wonders for the skin. A lot of the store bought products have tons of additional colours, preservatives and simple ingredients we cannot pronounce. So how about, trying out an all natural routine using ingredients you already know and love. I made a list of skin care products that you don't have to spurge on, you can add these simple DIY's to your existing routine or try a All Green Routine! This is my All Natural Skin Care Routine.

Makeup Cleanser: Oil Cleanser

The first step to cleansing your face is always making sure you start off by ridding your face of the day's impurities. This includes oil and dirt and makeup on skin. Start off with a simple oil cleanser, anyone of your favourite oils are just fine. I'm using my trusty Jojoba oil because it is a light oil that is the closest to our natural sebum.

Facial Cleanser: Castile Soap

My friend, this has to be one of my favourite washes yet. It is a natural, plant based cleanser that can be used for the face, body and hair. You can add some other ingredients to it to give it an extra kick or leave it simple like I did.

Facial Scrub: Simple Sugar Scrub

Next, you'll want to polish off all of the remaining dead skin using a simple sugar scrub. What I love about this sugar scrub is that the basic formula can be used as a lip, face, body scrub all at once. I like to make mine in batches and scoop some out when I need to use it.

Detox Mask: Bentonite Clay + Apple Cider Vinegar

To remove all the toxins deep within the skin, we'll be using a powerful metal detox mask... you guessed it: Bentonite Clay. This mask draws out all the impurities deep within the skin to the surface, improving circulation, rids the skin of congestion, leaving beautiful plump skin. Mix with Apple Cider Vinegar for best results as this is an amazing astringent for the skin as well. Leave this on for at least 20 minutes!

Hydration Mask: DIY Green Tea and Honey

After all those impurities have been removed from the skin, you'll want to replenish that moisture. For this, I'm using my DIY Green Tea and Honey Mask. Not only is this mask an amazing hydrator, it is packed with powerful antioxidants that fight aging of the skin, it doesn't clog pores, and because it is an antiseptic, it fights acne too. Leave this mask on for 10 minutes and the massage into the skin for best results!

Toner: DIY Facial Mist

After all of that hard work, we want to calm the skin down again, this is why Toner is so essential. Toner levels the skin's ph Balance and preps the skin for moisturizer. Witch Hazel is an amazing toner to use for this, and even better, it helps to control oil secretion! Try out my DIY Face Mist for the recipe!

Facial Lotion: DIY Coconut and Aloe Moisturizer

This one is a new favourite of mine. By now, I'm sure we all know the benefits of using coconut oil on the skin as well as the benefits of Aloe. Combining them together offers the perfect amount of hydration for the skin, and allow each other to penetrate the layers of the skin.

Beauty Oil: DIY Beauty Elixir

Last but not least, we want to lock in all that moisture we've just put into the skin, for this we use out DIY Beauty Elixir. Oils seal in moisture leaving the skin hydrated and supple. You don't need a lot of this at all, just two drops in your palms, rub them together and pat onto the face.
