8 Most Common Makeup No No's... And How To Fix Them

Makeup, just like everything else, is an art. Its an expression of self and your creativity. With that being said, there are a few guidelines every beaut enthusiast must follow. There are a lot of things that can go wrong with art and your makeup is no exception. Here at 8 most common makeup no no’s and how to fix them.

1. FORGETTING PRIMER.

Firstly, Primers are made for a reason, they help for easy application of makeup, since it gives you a smooth surface to work with. Primers prep and protect your face from the elements nature has to offer and the products you are using. It also helps to make your makeup last all day and all night.

2. CONCEALER HEAVY.

The purpose of concealer is to conceal blemishes, not to change your skin-tone. Concealer is good for under the eyes and under the arch of the brow but make sure to find a colour that actually suits you. Concealers are usually thick, wearing a lot of it is one of the reasons for the appearance of cake face.

3. GO EASY ON THE EYEBROW GEL.

Your eyebrows are supposed to frame your face. So you have to make sure to keep them clean and neat. If you're not blessed with a clearly defined arch and full brows like Cara Delevingne, Ariana Grande, or Zendaya then you still have options. A lot of girls fill in their brows its not anything new. You just have to fill in your brows the correct way. Powders or brow shadows are best for subtle fill ins. Pencils and gels are for more bold look. Just like anything, try it out at home before going out in public. And you brow colour should match your hair colour. If you have lighter hair, then your brows should be at least two shades darker, and if you have darker hair then your brows should be 2 shades lighter. But don't get crazy.

4. 80'S EYESHADOW.

Eye shadow adds a pop of colour to your face and also adds dimension to the eyes. There are 4 different finishes in eye shadow: Matte, Shimmer, Frost and Glitter. Remember to mix and match colours and finishes to achieve the best results. That 80s look of complementary colours all the way up to the brows has been out since the decade was over. Please do not attempt to bring it back. Leave that trend where it belongs, in the 80s and occasionally in magazines for artist effects.

5. HEAVY FOUNDATION.

Foundation should still look like skin, it is supposed to be used to even out your completion, not make you a walking doll with absolutely no pours. In case you didn't know by now, makeup is supposed to be blended on he jawline and neck. Your makeup is supposed to match the colour of your neck and chest so don't be afraid to do so.

6. GO EASY ON THE CONTOUR

Contouring, Highlighting, and Bronzing should be used to add dimension to your face. But tone it down a little. You don't have to be Vogue ready everyday. You might actually end up scaring some people.

7. BLUSH SHOULD BE A LIGHT FLUSH

Blush is supposed to add a nice flush to your face to make you not look so pale as if you've seen a ghost. Remember to blend blush to the sides of cheeks not only the apples and apply with a light hand so you dont look like a creepy China Doll.

8. DON’T FORGET TO LINE YOUR LIPS

There is a reason we have lip liners. It keeps the lipstick on your lips and makes the colour last a lot longer. Don't skip this important step. Pink lipsticks and glosses are the easiest to match with every skin tone. If you're feeling bold you can try different non conventional colours like Nudes, Browns, Reds, Purples and any other shade you want to try. Just remember, every girl can rock every colour, they just have to find the right shade. Oh and clean out the inside of your lips to prevent the colour transferring to your teeth. Lets be honest, that look ain't cute.

I hope these few tips are helpful.
