Do you need to buy the whole skincare product range?

Often times you’ll find when brands come out with new skincare it’s usually a range of products. So should you be using the full range or can you mix and match? Let’s explore!

Well first of all, why do we have product ranges in the first place?

A simple skincare routine can be anywhere from 3-5 products. That’s a lot of ingredients. While it is not necessary to use every single product in a line, using the same base ingredients can help your skin tolerate new products better as they are specifically designed to work together.

I recently cut out active ingredients for 30 days to rehydrate my skin, and give my skin barrier a much needed break. I’ve been using this Flaskin set, they’re actually all emptied, that has done wonders for my skin. These products are made with rice enzymes, oatmeal, soybean, and soy milk respectively which truly help to hydrate and nourish the skin.

Disclaimer: I received these products gifted from the brand with no obligation to post. My thoughts and opinions are all mine.

Rice Enzyme Protein Toner $44 CAD

The milky textured toner gently exfoliates the skin leaving your skin smooth and bright. Made with papaya enzyme, pineapple extract, and mannitol enzyme to gently breakdown dead skin cells.

First apply on a cotton pad and gently wipe over skin to exfoliate. The pour in palm of hands and pat into skin to further hydrate.

Soybean Bouncy Protein Essence $54 CAD

My personal favourite is the bouncy essence, which is that perfect sticky consistency to plump the skin. It adds elasticity to the skin and helps to create a more resilient skin barrier. Made with a combination of moisturizing ingredients and antioxidants, as well as Adenosine to help improve the appearance of wrinkles. It’s a wonderful snail mucin alternative. Apply on damp skin, by gently patting product into your skin.

Soy Milk Relief Protein Lotion $44 CAD

The lotion is a light weight moisturizer that I use on its own in the morning.  It helps condition the skin and reduce redness and itchiness, while firming the skin. This lotion leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth without feeling like there’s a heavy coating on your face. Great for all skin types.

Oatmeal Barrier Protein Cream $54 CAD

And the oatmeal barrier protein cream is like an intensive overnight treatment for your skin to deeply nourish and rebuild your barrier. Made with panthenol, probiotics, beta-sitoseterol (skin barrier) and sucralfatesome (skin repair). The key with this one is to let the product do the work. If you rub in too much it will form a white coat over the skin. Let the warmth of your hands melt the product into your skin. I love that it’s nourishing without being overtly heavy and greasy.

Overall

The lighting in the photos are slightly different (using natural lighting) but the overall complexion of my skin is much brighter, and looks and feels healthier. 30 Days ago, my skin was feeling quite dry, and tight but now it’s plump, bouncy and oh so glowy.
