The main idea is to thoroughly soak your lashes with your product of choice before trying to wipe it away. Waterproof mascara is (by name) created to resist being washed off. You need to break down the product in order to remove it. This can be done by soaking a cotton pad or makeup wipe in Oil, Micellar Water or Makeup Remover.

After breaking down the mascara with your weapon of choice, gently wipe your eyes from the base of the lashes on both top and bottom. Sometimes stubborn pieces can stick between your lashes so you'll need to take a Q-Tip, dipped in your product of choice, and run a clean end of the cotton to your lash line to make sure there isn't any trace of mascara left.
