REVIEW: Youth To The People Superfood Cleanser
This is the Youth To The People Kale + Green Tea Spinach Vitamins Superfood Cleanser (that was a very long name). It retails for $47 CAD for 237 mL of product. This is a potent antioxidant water-based cleanser that removes excess makeup, cleanses the pores, and is pH balanced to support the skin. It is supposed to be suitable for all skin types. Some of the notable ingredients are Kale; which is rich in vitamins C, E, and K, Spinach to soothe and cool the skin with fatty acids, and Green Tea which is a great antioxidant-rich ingredient to help fight against free radicals and prevent skin damage from environmental stressors.
The Product
This cleanser comes in an eco-friendly reusable glass bottle which is music to my ears. I love to repurpose packaging. It has also been labeled as “Clean” in terms of ingredients according to Sephora. I love multi-purpose products because they make your routine very simple, and easy. It lathers to a really nice foam that doesn’t leave the skin feeling stripped. This makes sense because it also has a healthy dose of aloe vera and vitamin e. You really don’t need a lot of this product as well so it will last for quite a long time. It is lightly fragranced with “natural fragrance.” It is very faint and smells medicinal.
My Experience
I was first introduced to this cleanser from seeing it in every SkincarebyHyram video ever. I have combination acne-prone skin so I wanted something that was going to help keep my oil and breakouts under control without drying out my skin. This cleanser does all of that.
I did use it as a double cleanse as the company advises it can be used that way and found that it took off my makeup very well. There was no makeup residue whatsoever. I also noticed that after just 2 weeks of using the product my skin felt smoother, my pores looked cleaner and my acne was reduced. It also has ascorbic acid but I didn’t see any significant brightening to the skin ( I do have hyper-pigmentation on highly melanated skin so it will be a long process). You get more from Vitamin C from leave-on products rather than wash-off ones so I wasn’t expecting any significant dark spot fading anyway.

Regardless, It is such a beautiful product. It has quickly become one of my favourites.
