I Tried Taking Zinc and Vitamin A for 30 Day (Acne Prone Skin)
The best way to clear acne is get to the root of the problem because there is only so much you can do on the surface. There are 5 vitamins that you can take known to improve acne. Vitamin A, E, B3, and Zinc. In my quest for clear skin, stumbled across this video right here, of one girl using 2 vitamins to get rid of her acne. After doing some extensive research, I wanted to try this combination and see what it would do for my skin. Over the past 30 days I have taken Zinc tablets and today I'm sharing with you what it did for my skin.
What do Zinc and Vitamin A do for the skin?
Zinc for the skin:
Regulates oil production of sebaceous glands
Helps the immune system, promotes healing of skin tissues
Antioxidant that fights and prevents free radicals damage
Anti-inflammatory, prevents acne and scarring (aha PIH)
Vitamin A for the skin:
Antioxidant (aka anti-free radicals)
Fights inflammation
Controls oil production
Boosts immune function
Promotes a kin repair (wound healing)
With that being said... Vitamin A is most beneficial to the skin topically as retinol
My Experience
DAY 1
It is advised to take in the morning with food
I threw up
Decided to take at night with my last meal
DAY 3
I had bad nausea
Re-arrange my tablets (iron-morning, multi-vitamin + fish oil midday and Zinc and Vitamin A-dinner)
DAY 7
No longer nauseous
Barely any breakouts
DAY 14
I was ovulating - didn’t experience many breakouts
Not many white-heads
Oil production was very balanced
DAY 21
Increased skin smoothness
Experiencing skin dryness
DAY 25
Noticed how fast my skin was healing
Pimple went away almost overnight
DAY 30
Significant decrease in pimples
No cystic acne
No new dark spots
Had drier skin - most likely due to winter
Overall, I feel like these two vitamins really helped me improve my skin. Once I got over the nausea, I really enjoyed how nice my skin felt and looked. I also no longer got cyctic legions on my face or body which is why I really wanted to combat with this
It is advised, however, not to use these two pills for an extended period of time. I continued using it for 3 months and then decided to stop. I was concerned that my acne would come back once these vitamins were no longer in my system and I had to maintain it with food.
I’m one month post pills, and my skin is still doing great. I do want to find a more permanent solution to my acne but this is definitely a start. This means that my acne is caused by some sort of imbalance in my body. I just need to find a sustainable option.
I do think these vitamins are worth trying and they truly gave me magnificent results!
