REVIEW: Coola White Tea Classic Sunscreen 50 SPF
This is the Classic Sunscreen SPF 50 in White Tea from Coola. It retails for $44 CAD at Sephora.
The Claims
The White Tea SPF from Coola is infused with Evening Primrose; a fatty acid that relieves inflammation and locks in moisture, and linseed oil; which helps with skin repair. These two oils have great benefits for the skin so while you’re protecting yourself from damaging UV rays you are also improving the appearance skin. It claims to balance moisture levels, reduce redness, even out the skin tone.
My Experience
To my surprise this sunscreen goes on very smooth. It feels like a light weight moisturizer and doesn’t have that SPF tint or heavy feel. It does not leave a white cast on the skin which is great as a brown skin girl so you don’t have to worry.
I love this specifically for when I am outside during the summer. I brought it with me on my trip to Ghana, and it was the only moisturizer I used in the daytime. It hydrates the skin a way that you don’t feel the need to wear a dedicated moisturizer underneath. With that being said, I do find it leaves the skin a bit shiny. I have combination skin and I have found that I have to use a oil cleanser to really this thing off my face so that it doesn’t clog my pores. We all know that during the summer last year I had a nasty break out that lasted for 6 months. During this time, this only exacerbated the problem. It started to break me out. I stopped using it for months until my breakouts subsided. Recently I started using it again and did not notice any irritation or any break out because of it. A light scrub with a wash cloth will take off the excess so there are no issues.
Overall
I think this is a good SPF for anyone who is going to be very active outside in the summer. It is light weight, and a good moisturizer to use on its own. I would recommend it for normal to dry skin and even combination types if you’re not too oily. Because it does leave the skin a bit shiny, you may want to stay clear of it if you have super oily skin.
