REVIEW: Treseme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer
This is the Treseme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer. It retails at Walmart for $5.48 CAD.
The Claims
According to the Treseme website, this 8 oz bottle is supposed to guard your hair against heat and friction. It protects the hair from the high temperatures Flat Irons, Blow Dryers, Curling Irons and other styling tools give off. Spray 6-8 inches away from the hair and let its vitamin complex lock in moisture leaving hair shiny and soft.
They go on to list the scents in the spray in detail, but for the most part it smells like a mixture of a light floral and musk which is very refreshing as most heat tamers are either too sweet smelling or smell like a mens fragrance (I love a mans scent, just not on my hair). This one meets that sweet spot.
My Experience
The spray feels very light on the hair, so its easy to distribute. To use, I part my hair into small manageable sections and work up from the nape of the neck. I apply my leave conditioner with a light hand and spray this heat protector on top. I try not to use too much because I want my hair to remain light and bouncy with no sticky feeling. I then take my Denman Brush or wide tooth comb and work the two products in. I let it sit for a second or two then blow dry first with the tension method around my roots with medium heat, then with my brush at high intensity/ medium heat. Once I am done, my hair is still manageable and doesn’t feel sticky or weighed down. This thermal spray mixes well with the products I already have in my cabinet which is very exciting.
Overall
I think this is a really good heat protector, I have not experienced any heat damage will using this. I think it is very important to dry your hair with a towel first so your hair isn’t soaking wet, work the product in with a brush or your fingers if you prefer so it coats all the strands for maximum protection. It’s inexpensive, and it works. What more could you ask for?
